Default Feeding snail eggs to fish

I have a million and three ramshorns in my 18g baby pleco tank. The tank has been taken over with bolbitis (african water fern) and the snails lay eggs ALL over it! I don't need anymore, so I peeled some eggs off the leaves and fed them to my angelfish. Does anyone think this is a bad idea? I didn't see anything online about doing this. I'm thinning the eggs would be nutritious, but want to make sure.

I don't care if a few snails make it passed their mouths, snails don't usually do well in my tanks for lack of minerals. I think they do well in the pleco tank because of the food I feed my plecos.

Snail eggs (and indeed all eggs) are nutritious because they contain lots of stored energy and nutrients for the developing embryo. To defend their eggs, many snails surround their eggs with a tough, inedible case that may also contain toxins. I'm not sure whether this applies to ramshorn snails too, but I'd proceed with caution initially.

Oh ok, that's good info, I'll check to see if the ramshorns' egg case is poisonous.

I don't see how you even harvested them, they've got to be tiny...

I really couldn't find anything online, and tbh I was was getting upset with some of the incredibly false and lack of information....so I gave up reading.

But in reading, there are many fish that eat snails and snail eggs that some aquarists were purposely keeping to control their tank's pest snail infestations. A ramshorn is a common pest snail, so I'm guessing they would be okay. I'm going to proceed with caution as suggested, thank you!

**My rams went crazy for them!

It is nice that you now have a sustainable source of nutritious food for your rams. It is great to know where this food comes from/has been.

    Hahaha, that made me laugh

It's reassuring to know the snails and fish are free of diseases and parasites, but I'm still not 100% sure the egg sack doesn't contain toxins. If everything's ok, it's a win-win for me (and the fish), free nutritious fish food

I'm just a bit mind blown that nobody else is asking what I'm asking lol. I feel like a weirdo, but surprised no one does this.

Anyone else at the AC ever feed ramshorn snail eggs to their fish?

    I haven't, for 2 reasons:

    1. My eyes aren't what they used to be, I doubt I'd even see them

    2. I haven't had ramshorns since I bought assassins, long ago

The eggs, I just pop them off and feed them to my fish. There are so many egg sacs.
