hello everyone!!! i have a ryukin goldfish (her name is puddles) in a 24 gal. aqarium (she is only about 2 iches) i went up to my aquarium yesterday and saw she had a bubble on her cheek/gill area? its the size of a small pea. we recently had a ammonia problem(all fixed now) im not sure if that has anything to do with this problem. she can swim normal amd when we got her she looked extremely healthy. she is such a gorgeous fish i would hate to loose her.
thank you for all your help!

Any chance you could get a picture of it and post? A pic would help the folks here in helping diagnose and treat.

If it happened overnight it could be the result of a bacterial infection (ammonia spike). It might fix itself or you might have to medicate the fish.

I would treat the fish in a separate 20 gallon plastic storage tub using Kordon Methylene Blue for 1 week. Methylene blue will help with healing by bringing more oxygen into the fish as well help the fish deal with any delapitative effects of ammonia poisoning. This will stain things so be careful with it. Since it's just goldfish, you do not really need a heater in the tub, just an airstone. I would also change out at least 5 gallons of water a day, re-medicating the water that was changed out.
