Thanks mate. Yeah that's pretty much how I got into the diy side. Plus I'm a qualified plumber so that help a lot. Besides I find a lot of the decorations for sale are overpriced garbage. Just my opinion

I have all sorts of odds and ends lying around in my lab/inventions/jamming room. Don't work as a plumber anymore just tinker with fish tanks and such. Comes in handy. I use bits of everything not just plumbing gear. Best algae scraper ever. Referees cards. You know the red and yellow ones they use to ref soccer. Takes it straight off without little scrubby jerky movements needed. Use em for my piranha tanks. They don't like it when you scrub the tank to vigorously. Yet I rarely want to put my arm in for too long. He starts lining himself up. He's pretty tame but he's still a piranha. Not the cleverest of fish.

Not hard to get at all by the way. Plumbing parts I mean. Just they're getting stricter on regulating tradespersons over here. Get rid of those dodgy tradesmen who cause all sorts of problems. But I go by the premise of why buy parts when I can make em. Something to do to kill the boredom

I had a mate go to London a while ago. She use to always be pro nz. And every time I use to say how Ozzie and USA were better apparently were where more advanced.

With in a week of being their we were just dirt and third world. Which is pretty true.

Really cool your able to use your trade to work in the fish room for you.

As for fish lots of teeth and arm in a confined space. Hmm yeah I would prefer the chain link arm guards out butcher's use.
