    If you were able to put them down in a fast, no-suffering sort of way -- in my humble opinion, it is a just-fine method.

    No reason to have a critter needlessly suffer from something incurable, so good on you to euthanize.

    I'd say it's running at least a year. The gourami's were the last fish I purchased 4 months ago. Both died.
    I have to always blame myself though. I think it's due to too much food and high Nitrates.
    The tank was and is currently doing great. I did a complete overhaul 2 days after a WC and then changed the water again 2 days after that.
    Cleaned out gravel and filters thoroughly. I think I solved the problem. The weeks ahead will tell. I'm going to go back to a strict once a week Water Change schedule instead of waiting 10 days. And feeding less should help.

    No further casualties. After 2 Water Changes, tank & fish are looking good. Thanks to everyone's help, I now know what Dropsy looks like.
