Question Afraid Hermit Crabs are eating New Growth

    1 Not allowed!
I'm afraid that my marine hermit crabs are eating new growths on my green star polyps. I've looked around alone and have seen that they don't typically eat corals but they will eat the dead skin off corals. Last night I got some new polyps on my coral and was really excited about it. Woke up today and they were all gone. I'm scared that the crabs are eating the new growths but leaving the coral. Any experiences or suggestions?

Sorry I don't have any knowledge of SW or hermit crabs eating new growth-but If it is the case it stinks. Maybe Marty will know-try PM-ing him. He may not be up since he's overseas.

Ok. Its sprouted two more polyps since I posted this morning. There were two smaller and two larger hermit crabs. I took out the two larger ones when I saw the new polyp and its still there, so I think they may indeed be the culprit.
