Default Hello from Virginia! Looking for advice.

    Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and wanted to pop on here and introduce myself. My name is Ace and I am a writer by trade, and a fish tank hobbyist. I have been keeping fish tanks my whole life. My dad was very into aquatics when I was growing up and we always had one or two tanks around. They were always fairly simple community tanks though, and as I have gotten older, I have been wanting to do something more complicated. My husband and I happened to get lucky and find an old 40 gallon corner tank that someone was about to haul off to the dump. We happily took it, cleaned it up, and set it up in our home. I have always wanted to keep cichlids, and we opted for South Americans. So we have blue rams, gold rams, a firemouth, a flowerhorn, and two convicts. So far, everything is working out, but I have tons of questions and big ideas for what I want to do with the tank. If you are interested, or are a keeper of non-African cichlids and think you may be able to answer some of my questions, look for my posts in the cichlid forums! Thanks and I look forward to chatting with you!
