Email Hacked.
So, it turns out, my dad had his email hacked. I got an email from "him" saying that he had to take a trip to london, and he got all of his money stolen in a robbery. He said I need to send him some money through western union, so he can pay the hotel bills.
So, I have decided to have a little fun with the scammer.
Basically, I am going to get him to send me some money through paypal, just so I can be sure that "it is really my father", and then I am going to cease all contact with him, and buy some aquarium junk.Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can pay the rent.

Jerk. Spammers are now using the Ebay thing more than anything else. You get emails to update your information or your account will be suspended or an email stating someone just purchased from you when you aren't selling anything. You can only get Ebay authentic emails thru their site after you log in.

Paypal is not just for ebay, it can be used with any selling item.
I have already made a dupe paypal account as well.
My older brother got one of these emails too, and he is doing the same thing.Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can pay the rent.

He was probably phished... I get those emails all the time saying "please verify" something. You should probably make him aware of these scams. If anyone gets these and are unsure, always send a seperate email to the site admin you are familiar with to find out what it is about. I know I've been phished several times on PayPal alone. They look very real if you don't know what to look for.
Good luck on scamming the scammer!

I get those emails at least once a week. Wish that there was something paypal could do about it. Paypal can be used for almost anything on the internet now that deals with money! I have been using it for about 3 years now.

I suggest to do what I do, fwd the email to paypal and thay will try to stop it. Once I started with that tactic I got less email. Now if I do get them it at least goes to my Yahoo junkmail. Since I never look there, I'm not bothered much anymore.

Yeah, I figured he was phished. I don't know if the password was changed on his email or not, but I'm going to have him tell me his old password so I can get into his old email, and find the phishing page, so I can find the URL where it logged his information, then I will report it.
