Ruby tetras (Axelrodia riesei) are a tiny option and I'd also personally consider ember tetras.

Chili's on the other hand don't move as much dithering wise as the Embers do. Even the espeis moved less than the Embers although they move more than the Chili's. Celestial Pearl danios are another option, they also tend to stay more in one spot kind of like the Chili's.
Good advice, I'm going to have CPD's again one day, beautiful little fish, perfect for a 10G

I personally would be fine with ember tetras or ruby tetras in a 10g.
As to the pH question, a high pH is fine for all aquarium fish except for those which have been wild caught from acidic areas.

Thanks all. I'm going to hold on to this thread for when its time to stock the tank. can shrimp go with these tiny guys? The tank does have some live plants... I don't know if that really matters because I don't care if my fish eat the plants, i think it's what they're meant to do.

Here's another vote for embers, one of the smallest tetra/Characin fish, IMO they would be fine in your 10g ;-)

Certainly, you can have shrimp with nano fish, and many regular sized fish, too

Most fish won't eat plants, but they may graze on the surface of them for infusoria or other tasty bits of what they can find
