Hey guys. I've got a Blue Gourami I've had I think for a little less then a year. She has been a lot less active in the past month. Mainly floating at the top or in the corners. From time to time she'll swim around and she still eats at feeding time. But judging by the colors of her she doesn't look very well either from when I first bought her. Any ideas what could be going on? I haven't seen anybody nip on her even though I see a couple of nips on her fins. When she was more active to be honest she was kind of a bully to other fish.

The ammonia could be affecting her, did you cycle the tank?

Sounds like stress from aggression, hence the fin nips.

Did you test ammonia and nitrite?

He's showing ammonia of .25, no trItes.

But there should be no ammonia if the tank is cycled (?)

I can't for the life of me get the ammonia down to 0. I'm thinking it's something with my tap water. That's why is started using prime as I was recommended. The tank is heavily planted and i recently added in the hornwort which I read helps as well. I also have a trumpet snail population problem which I'm trying to get under control but I doubt that's what's causing it.

    Test the tap water.

Are you testing the tank water for ammonia 24 hours after a water change?

No I haven't seen anybody bother her. If I had the guess though it was probably the Kribs who nipped her.
