    Default Best faucet hookup solution?

    Hi, all -

Looking to change where I get my water for water changes, and the best way to approach this. The two small tanks I have are a 10g and a 20g long. The water will be coming from a stand-in shower which is the closest source of water that has sufficient pressure (the kitchen sink is on a different floor). I've removed the shower head since no one uses it for that, so it's just a regular pipe fitting now.

Could a Python be attached to a bare pipe fitting? Otherwise I think I would need to find a lead-free hose adaptor and a drink safe garden hose and would still be using buckets, which is fine, but it would require finding the right pieces and probably wouldn't be any cheaper. Anything else I'm not thinking of?

    Thanks!

Yeah hard to tell without seeing what it looks like. Python has a few different adapters.

If a standard garden hose can fit that, the python will fit it.

So a python can fit a garden hose attachment then? I don't think I could attach a garden hose directly without an adapter - I think the threading is different for pipes versus garden hoses. I know they make those kinds of adapters but I'll need to make sure that it is safe (i.e., no lead).

I connect my python directly to a garden faucet or potable hose.
