I am trying to breed two blue diamond discus for two months. The female is a proven breeder and the male is new at breeding. The problem i have is that the male is not fertilizing the eggs correctly, he makes at best one or two half passes over the eggs. I know for sure he is not infertile because a few eggs hatched with live wigglers.

Is there anything i could do ? Usually (about once a week) i lower the water temperature about 1 degree changing 50-60% of the water. That triggers the female to lay eggs.

Any advice would be very appreciated because de male seem to have good genetics, it is my biggest discus at 7 inch long.
