The dwarf gourami would likely be the center piece you could maybe increase the school size of the neons instead of the apisto.

Perfect, will buy a thermometer to see how it goes but right now for the sake of cycling I have it set at 28 degrees and it doesnt turn on that often (altho it does)

Reason I say increase school is tetras are very gregarious and do better with larger numbers and neons are well known to be weak. You should look at the green "false neon" tetras Paracheirodon simulans they have a tiny bioload so they will do very well in your size tank. Also there known to be hardier then regular neons.

Fair enough. What are you water test showing? How long have you been cycling? Using liquid ammonia?

Well I'm at the poor side right now rofl so now money for tests. Been checking the ph and its deff slightly acidic but just very slightly, now less than 6.7-6.8, been checking the bacteria and archea colonies under the microscope and they are growing huge, no sign of bacteria in the water column, crystal clear water, no smells, some fungi over the silicone and some pieces of organic matter inside and plants growing like CRAZY with just 1000 lumen of a cheap non aquarium light so I bet the nitrogen cycle is probably already settled and the conditions are very good but I wont put any fish in there at least till December 4th or so since I have to travel the first days of December and dont want to leave the fish alone in less than a month. Also feeding the bacteria 3ppm of NH4+ per day so yeh, I think the nitrogen cycle should be at least finishing (the tank has been like this for 2-3 weeks). Anyways, when I come back from my trip, I will take a sample to the petstore to get it checked and make sure the cycle is done.

I agree with Joe on the green neon tetras, very hardy and more colorful. I have a school of them.

Just one question = why, oh why, do you want Malasian Trumpet Snails???
