I KNEW you'd find one that was already available, lol.

So that stuff is a gel when you buy it, no cooking required?

Its a powder with gelatin, you just add boiling water, all of my bottom feeders and fish go crazy over it. I make each separately or add a bit of the fiber (Morning Wood) into the Soilent Green or vice versa. You can mix in pellets and freeze dried foods too.

Telling you guys, if you haven't tried the repashy line-your missing out; or your fish are.

Is this the stuff the smells up the kitchen when you add boiling water? My husband will not put up with that... wonder how long it takes the tell-tale scent to dissipate...? (If it is indeed the smelly stuff)

My kids want a pleco. I'm reluctant to add a big bioload fish that is so likely to hide on me all the time.

I've read a few accounts of cichlid fry gettng sucked up into filters, then found weeks later. The one in the filter is always 2-3x larger than the rest. Considering that any fish in that environment would be eating very well-strained food rather than intact flakes or pellets along with whatever they graze from the filter media, it seems that they have access to relatively constant feeding to support the extra effort of living in the filter. I would have thought that would be very stressful in general.

What an interesting story. I'm glad your pleco was healthy and then some! I actually placed dirty filter floss from another tank into my tank full of laser cories, and they loved it! I was told later to remove it though :( I still think all that initial gunk is great food for tiny fish who eat off the bottom.

And I also feed my fish Repashy foods in rotation with pellets and other things, they are wonderful to use and my fish all LoVe it! I'm using Grub Pie mostly, but Morning Wood for my BN plecos and Spawn & Grow for fry and mother fish who need the nutrients to put into their own body weight instead of the eggs. I love using Repashy. I make it, use some of it immediately, and freeze the rest in chunks. I break off small mouthfuls and let the food melt in my fingers over a sink. Any and all my fish go crazy over Repashy!
