    Good advice!

I only buy the ones attached to the glass or moving. If the snail falls over shell down, it can't roll back over and if it's not noticed in time, they will die. At the LFS I don't think they know how to feed them either. But they can live a long time if healthy and really do keep my algae away!

Agree with above. I forgot to mention that they can't roll over so you have to make sure that when you put them in the tank you put them right side down otherwise (like Angelcraze2 said) they will die.

So they don't climb and free fall, like mysterys do?

If so, they may not always land right-side-up, right?...especially in a heavily planted or decoed tank

I've always avoided them because of the eggs..I find them unsightly....if I knew I was just getting males, then no problemo

Hmm males......never considered that. I always thought they were asexual.

They do climb the walls and I've bumped them off by accident myself, and they can land on their backs and I move them upright. If they tank is heavily planted, they can grab onto pieces of plant and reorient themselves, for example, or in really uneven substrate, but I try to keep my eye out for it. I've lost a few like that, even one of my newest youngest ones :( I found it on its back, but it was too late.

Just happened to notice how bad my brown algae had gotten, I'm due for a wc. I placed a badly starved nerite and he actually left a snail trail of clean leaf. It's kinda funny and at my expense of showing you my diatoms and snails that are getting better with added cuttlebone. I just had to show how they clean. I manually put this guy on that leaf. It surprised me after all this diatoms talk lol, and it was horrid.

But look who's right behind it? Another nerite. They are amesome.
