Hello all.
I have one male Plakatt betta living in a 10 G FW, cycled aquarium. I have a smaller, female betta in a separate 20 G. Community tank. My hope is someday in the near future to breed them. The problem is this- the male is
in 76 degree water, no heater but has a HOB filter. I try to keep the agitation at the water's surface to a minimum as I have read that this can prevent a bubblenest being blown. That is the problem. The male betta will not blow a bubblenest despite anything I've tried to encourage this. Can anyone suggest what I can do to help my betta blow a nest ? Just a second sideline question is, does anyone advise against trying to breed a Plakatt with a female crowntail ? Thanks.
