    Change in Direction

    Hey AC Friends!
I started this tank a while ago and the theme was keeping a budgeted tank. That is still apart of the theme, but I want to go a new direction with the tank. The thread has been renamed, 'The Livebearer Jungle'. This is because I am wanting to fill the tank with a huge amount of plants and just let 'em grow Diana Walstad style. I then want to make a few colonies of different types of livebearers and just have them thrive in the tank.

On top of the new direction, here is a list of renovations I am going to be doing and posting about in progress.
    1) Use Plywood to secure the tank on the stand
    2) Paint Stand
    3)Paint Tank Background
4)Get back on a Plant Fertilizer Schedule
5)Actually Keep Up with Updates on this thread lol :D

Here are pictures of the tank currently:

What are the views on otocinclus for clearing algae? There quite a bit of long strands on some of the rocks and a few of the plants. The otos seem to be clearing it off the glass and amazon sword, but really haven't touched it anywhere else. The only experience I've had with algae grazing fish are Siamese algae eaters and they ate anything lol

Hmmm like all fish some do well some do not. Bnp one are very good but can become lazy. sae are great as well. As for the otto's they seem to be very good from what I have heard. But never kept them my self. One thing though a decent school of them would look very nice.

There is currently 4 of them. Its cool to watch them shoal together on the glass. They just haven't touched any of the larger blotches of algae yet. It could also be because they are juveniles. They are only about 2 inches probably.

Also I started back on a fertilizer schedule. I saw the plants pearling for the first time in about 4 months so that was encouraging. I've been spending a good amount of time looking at plans for a DIY stand. I've never done something like that before but I think its do-able for me.

The stands are pretty easy to do. Just remember 314 stainless screws of you are screwing timber together.
