So right now I'm going to be setting up a dedicated tank for my Hoplias malabaricus which is currently in a 55g grow out. I'm going tomorrow to check out and hopefully get a 125g, for a steal, for it to call home. It will be the only fish in this tank. I have everything else except glass lids to get the build completed. I'm slowly gathering some driftwood pieces and rocks for when I make the switch. I'm in the process of switching to pellets which is going well. Here's the latest driftwood that I'm soaking in my rosy quarantine tank. So it will sink, I attached some slate to the bottom but it's not enough so once it's gets some water soaked into it hopefully it will sink on it's own.

That's an awesome piece of dw. Is it all one piece, or two entwined together?

    Very cool piece.

I'll look forward to watching your build.
Do you plan on capturing a video of feeding? or did you just say 'how entertaining it is to feed' to tease us all?

I know zilch about this fish, but will watch this thread and undoubtedly learn a thing or two.

He's about 6 or 7 inches. I've been told by several around here that keep them they'll get to about 15 inches in an aquarium environment. But bigger in the wild.

I agree-what a gorgeous piece of DW. Tanks that are stolen are my favorite-lol. Where did you get it, craigslist? I saw a couple 125 gallon tanks with stands for $200-$300 but can't do anything right now. Also saw a new 150 gallon tank with lids, light, and stand for $650 at Petsmart. Really, really, really, really wanted that one as the tank itself is $647 at the Aquarium Adventures I go too, their stand is another $675 and no lids or lights.

I am off to look at your thread on the fish for this tank.

I'm going this afternoon to look at a 125 for 75 bucks. Looks to be in good shape so I'll see. Got the driftwood locally and cut it flat on the bottom so I can attach a piece of slate to the bottom to keep it down.
