cleaning the tank

how often should we clean our tank, different sites have been saying different things. we have a 10 gallon tank.

you should do a 10 to 15% water change a week. your filters, well that depends on how muck you feed and how many fish are in the tank
but they should be change anywhere from 1 to 2 mouths. but you will get a lot of different answer to this question.

1. remove upto 20% of water
2. remove fish
3. add aqua safe
4. leave fish in bag for about hour (in tank)
5. let fish out or bag.

or is this right

2. do not remove fish.
3. add water.

good question I'm wondering the same thing

remove 10 to 15 %(20% is fine)of the water from the bottom of tank.
add aqua safe or stress coat to the water.
leave the fish in, do not remove them. i do not.
do this once a week. make sure new water is same temperture as tank water.

i been keeping fish for about 35 years now.
