I think you could add 10-12 otos...just be sure you have plenty of algae for them to eat, they forage constantly

Just want to make sure I am up-to-date with my acclimation method:

I buy all of my fish from TWS with overnight shipping. I make sure to open the box in a dimly lit room. As soon as I open up the bags, I drop a few drops of Prime into the bag water. I'll rinse off the outside of the bags as much as possible before putting into my tank. My tank light is either completely off or on a very dark/dim setting. I will then float the bags in my tank for an hour, while adding a little bit of my tank water to each bag in 15 minute intervals. Then I will dump the water from the bags into a bucket while catching the fish with my net and then gently place them into my tank and allow them to swim out of the net themselves.

I've lost a couple of Bamboo shrimp shortly after introducing them to my tank so I just want to make sure this method is good. I guess the Bamboo shrimp might be a little more sensitive??

Great looking tank and so much activity. Those Columbian tetras look huge. I didn't realize they got so big but they look nice in there.

So you've resisted the urge for a 2nd or 3rd tank? You've been away too long.

Thanks!! And yes, so far I have been able to resist after almost 3 years!! How many people here can say that??? :)

I'd honestly love another tank but don't really have the room right now. Perhaps in the future once we move to a bigger place. I've been wanting to do a cichlid tank.

Perfect...don't forget to lower the tank water a little bit to accommodate the volume of the water in the bags, then top off when done

This is a must for me, when I order from TWS, I get the most out of my shipping fee that I can, so I'm usually floating multiple bags

Lately, I haven't even been adding tank water to the bags, just float them for 15-20 minutes, bucket-net them, and put them in

I'd still do your method though, acclimate slowly with tank water

Nice update! It is good to hear from you. Your tank looks great with all the variety that you've included. Very active and interesting - nicely done!

I've always wanted to combine sterbai and dwarf chain loaches. How long have you had them together? Do you find that your loaches are shy, or are they out-and-about?

Thanks for sharing a peek into your tank.

Thanks! It's good to be back. Sorry again for the long absence.

I've had the sterbai and dwarf chain loaches together since March 2018 and have had zero issues. The DCL might be my favorite fish in my tank. They are not shy at all and literally all over the place. Chillin on plants, rocks, and DW and sometimes I'll see a few schooling with the rummynose which is really fun to watch. Just an absolutely fun little fish to have!! Only issue with them is the price. One DCL costs $13 from TWS at the time I bought them. But if you can afford it I highly recommend them!!
