Do you think it's because they are contained in dirt pots that they stay so short and compact, or do you think the 10k 1W diode fixture pointed at them is keeping them short/compact but still colourful?

Here's a pic of the substrate. There are two red ozelots behind the DW in the middle/left, they area planted in gravel/eco/fluorite, but seem to grow just as compact as the other rosette swords.

Both, but mostly the light. They don't have to grow tall to get to it.

Yeah, tall and lanky plants are on a search for light. Have a good source of light (and ferts) and the plants grow wide-not tall, unless they are supposed to be 24-35" monsters, lol. Fortunately rosettes are not when they are in the right conditions=your tank.

Your plants are beautiful, Kat! I love looking at this tank. Your scape is pleasing on the eyes.

That's nice to say, tx. I always felt my rosette swords were too small though. I had no idea why. In all my tanks actually. I've seen some beautiful monster colour swords in other tanks, I figured co2 helped with that kind of thing, which I don't have ATM. How do I know if they're supposed to be monsters? Even my red ozelots in the back grew in tiny. Ahhhh well, they're cute!

TY very much RG! I like it to be calming, and of course the angels add to that gliding through the water. Still can't wait to add more tetras and rams though!
