Lol, I didn't know veggies were so bad for us. I keep hearing different things about it, like you shouldn't eat tomatoes, beans and peanuts because of the high lectin content. Can't eat this, should avoid that, my head is spinning. It seems the nightshade veggies are good, as long as one doesn't eat too much of it. So I'm going by my old motto, everything in moderation. I wouldn't feed tomatoes though because of the acidity. There must be some nutritional value in every vegetable, more in others, but to figure out a proper diet, I would need a nutritionist.

Do you think it's worth feeding veggies to plecos, or is it mostly just for variety? Like as a treat? Should prepared veggie and algae wafers still be the staple?
I feed my plecos veggies on a weekly basis, sometimes twice a week. I think its good for them. I eat lots of veggies and grew some this year so we have them to share. Though many times I tell sis to grab a veggie just to feed the fish. My goldfish love the papaya too, and like watermelon as well.

Oh yes, I remember papaya from your vids! Do you still feed them a staple food though? Or do they feed mostly on the algae? I know you feed repashy and make your own (add vitamins) all that :) But do you feed them something as a staple food? I feed mine Omega One and North Fin pleco food 2 or 3 times a week, babies everyday though.

I feed them the northfin but mostly repashy because it has less fillers. Of course I assume they also feast on any leftover scraps that the fish miss.

Thanks @Boundava. One more question, how often do the plecos get North Fin or Repashy? Nightly?

Every other day, except when I give them veggies. But that's for adults. For the babies I would feed them daily and add veggies with food twice a week. I gave the babies only repashy.

Some shots of the 90g. These were the shots because even two of my BN plecos were out. Check out the original male in front of the cave on the left hand side.

Wow gee thanks Matt!! Imagine this was my nightmare "Algae City" tank two years ago. It shows what persistence can reap ;)

This tank is always evolving, new plants take over, others die off, the shade from the surface plants and as the plants grow taller has me on my toes. The red lotus grow according to how much light is available. It's also my only tank with African plants, which I'm really gaining an appreciation for. Plus, I love my angels and BN plecos!

Indeed it was, you've done a great job in the evolution of this tank...and don't forget, I can always change the title of the thread, just shoot me a PM if you'd like to do so.
