    Default My fishes mysteriously die

    0 Not allowed!
I have a 20 gallon tank with a small (slightly bigger than a quarter) angelfish, 1 moly, 1 platy, 3 guppies, 1 zebra danio, and a coupe of snails.
I started out with 4 danios and four guppies, I've seemed to be slowly losing the danios ever since i first got them. and one of the guppies died just 2 days after i got them. Nothing appears to be wrong with them, and i got the water tested at the pet store twice and it came back clean. What should I do? I don't want to keep losing fish and i don't want my danio to perish.
Im still very new o all of this so thanks for the advice!

Did you cycle the tank before putting fish in it? How did you cycle it? I am not very familiar with angels but they could be too aggressive for this size tank.

I cycled it without fish for about a week then the guy at the pet store said i could either add chemicals to move the cycle along or I could get danios, So trying to avoid the chemicals I got the 4 danios, One of them apeared to have Ich on him so i quarantined him, and treated the tank for ich, I believe that stress killed that one danio. So i kept the tank like that and kept getting the water tested to see how it was progressing and everything seemed fine, so I added the platy, molly and angel. still everything was fine. Then i added the 4 guppies and then a few days later a Guppie died and a Danio died. i got the water tested again and it came back fine. and now a danio is missing. yes missing.

What kind of test do they use at the pet store?

You need to be doing your own testing, get one of these as soon as you can: http://www.amazon.com/API-Freshwater...aster+test+kit

Welcome!....also, what water conditioner do you use?

Many of us here have great success with this stuff, it's the best out there, IMO: http://www.amazon.com/Seachem-671043...=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

Stress Coat is fine for now, when you run out of it, get some Prime.

The filter isn't "bad", per se, but we generally recommend 2X the filtration for a given tank size, or even more.

Therefore, you would want at least 40G worth of filtration...what kind of filter do you have?...is this a "kit" setup, that came with everything? (hood, lights, filter, etc)

So you have a glass lid, with a plastic strip on the back that you can cut out to make room for another filter?
