    Yes, I'm familiar with AqAdvisor...they tend to err on the conservative side....it's a good reference tool, but not an exact science

    Right. They have a disclaimer that tells you to do additional research which I do.

    Cycling with a betta means that your tank had a bacterial colony prepared to handle a betta. Because the colony was started, it should catch up to the new bioload relatively quickly, but make sure you are consistently getting 0s for nitrite and ammonia before adding any more fish.

    I agree with adding more cories. The smaller species are pretty sensitive so water quality is even more important.
