I also miss the activity on the forum. I feel that since the site had issues its was hard to keep up with posts and many just stopped or went elsewhere.

Yep. It just sort of became more trouble than it seems worth. I'm not around a lot, being down to one tank now, and the pond which is frozen over half the year...Plus I'm kind of obsessed with archery lately. Enjoying my break from the hobby. But I sure do miss my fish buddies around here.

Doing pretty good. I got Jr. a little youth-sized .22lr rifle for xmas and yesterday we stayed out till the sun went down spinning those little .22 steel targets and punching holes in paper targets. I've been trying my hardest to keep him occupied with projects during the winter that keep him away from his ipad. Erector sets, Spirographs, Legos...I even subscribed to those KiwiCrate things where they send you a different STEM project each month. He's been getting burned out on some of the stuff after just like 45mins but the hours just melted away while plinking with the .22.
Other than that, just the usual work/family routine. You guys do anything special for the holiday? Any traveling or special gifts?

Nice! Target practice is lots of fun, especially with a new gun. My first "gift" gun from my Dad was a 20 gauge shotgun for dove hunting, but I was raised with firearms of all types, and was taught at an early age to use and respect them properly...not many rifles for us, but can't beat a .22 for some fun with targets, and small game/vermin hunting
Have had a great holiday so far, need to update some of my threads, I'm as guilty as anyone here for the non-activity, I hope to fix that soon
One "special" gift I may consider to share is that I finally got a smart phone, and my family and friends have welcomed me to the 21st century, lol
I must admit, the first thing I've learned to appreciate is that texting is much more time consuming on a flip-phone, a keyboard is much easier to use
At any rate, I do miss Flippy, but time to move on, I suppose
Enough already, we've hijacked the OP's thread beyond measure, I'll dust off my old threads here and try to get some new posts going, you and everyone else here do the same

Nothing like a good old land line for reliability and simplicity. As for so-called "texting", that's what e-mail is for.
I never have to charge my jacked in desk phone. It even works during a power outage -- without batteries.
It never drops calls.
I don't need a cell signal to use it.
I pick up the receiver, punch in the number, talk, and hang up. About as simple as it gets.
Pretty satisfying, if you ask me.
