    I'm not sure why the male started attacking her. I was excited for the first 5min. It's harder to pair them up at this size. Best way would be to put them in a established tank with fish much bigger than them. I'd put the male in first, probably a week or 2. Then I'd divide a section of the tank up and put the female in. Leave her divided until they start clearing around the divider, then release.
    Problem is, I pulled that male out of the 180g Zeus is in because he was being a wrecking ball. Fish flying everywhere non stop. If I put the female in there... Boy oh boy.. That didn't work so great last time. Had all the fish pinned in one corner around 10min.
    It would be nice to have a monster tank with fish around 15-17". I'm sure that would work perfect.
    Until then, I have to wait until they both get in the mood or, the male gains some weight.
