Need to kill Mozzie larve quickly
0
Hi,
I have a large empty pond filled with stagnant water that is now full of heaps and heaps of mosquito larva. How can I kill them before they change into Mozzies very soon ?
I will be completing the pond with fish, pumps, filters etc in a couple of months time , so I cant do anything which will contaminate /poison the water permanently.
I am leaning towards putting some dishwashing liquid drops in, but dont want a bubble bath ! and I need to do something now, as they are already starting to hatch I reckon.
Any other household products worth trying ?
Would chucking in an old small pump I have help, by moving the water around ?
Cheers.

keeping the water surface agitated will prevent adult mosquitoes from laying new eggs in the water, but it won't do anything to harm the existing larva.
It looks like there's a commerical product available that claims to do exactly what you need.

I would suggest doing your own research before purchasing, see if anyone else on the internet has personal experience with it.

can you put some small fish in the pond to eat all the larvae? any small predator would have an all-u-can eat buffet in there!

I would agree to agitate the water. Then after the water is less stagnant by the agitator I would add a good amount of live bearers (guppies) in there to consume the larvae.
