    Default Good nitrate test kit

    Hello,

I am now using an API nitrate test kit. The problem is that the colors are very hard to distinguish from one to another until you get to 40ppm. Since I have discus in my tank it is not useful because 40ppm is already to high for discus. Is anyone know of a nitrate test kit that allow an accurate reading in the 10-30ppm range ?

Here's a pretty good video comparing API Vs. Seachem, it's a multi part video series:

Thank you for the video, the seachem test kit seams to be what i want.
You are right it is not rocket science but just for the peace of mind i'd like to measure precisely the amount of nitrate in my tank.

I use only the Seachem tests for everything. All tests come with a reference sample so your sure it's accurate.

Salifert makes very good test kits as well. Maybe even better than SeaChem but do not provide reference sample. I don't trust or use API for anything, to great a difference in results.

is it a test strip, or a liquid test?
When you have a 12-inch bowl and a fish that gets up to 15 inches, it's obviously not going to fit.
