Default Redtail cat question / medication

    0 Not allowed!
I have a 75 gallon aquarium with a huge red parrot cichlid and a 9 inch redtail cat. The Parrot Cichlid has popeye disease. If I medicate the aquarium with an over the counter medicine for this condition will it harm my Redtail cat. Thanks in advance.

Make sure the medication is safe for scaleless fish. The redtail is quickly going to outgrow the 75, might be a good time to upgrade to a much larger tank or rehome the catfish before it does get too large.

your problem is likely due to the massive amounts of waste that a redtail cat produces. popeye is almost always due to poor water quality. use API melafix (its all natural) and do water changes almost daily. also add an airstone when using melafix to ensure good oxygen levels.
