    Default Trickle filters??

    0 Not allowed!
So I already asked this question on a different thread, so I'll just give the condensed version. Basically I have an aqua clear model 125 trickle filter. It is missing some pieces and I have never used one before. It is prospectively going to be used on a 92 gallon corner tank. So what I am wondering is basically how does it work? Would it be sufficient on a 92 gallon? And is it worth making necessary fixes? Any and all input is appreciated

Maybe it's a wet/dry (I thought they were the same?).... I think the company might've changed names and the model might be different. I want to say it might be aqua pro now? But It's styled like a mini sump though, so it's neither HOB or canister. It looks like it can hold maybe 10-15 gallons of water.

Hmmm...might be an outdated model...I think for a tank that big, I'd go for a regular canister filter, and an AC110 for backup/extra filtration

I was thinking I could probably rig up a canister filter to the existing plumbing, but idk for sure. Haven't had a chance to play around with everything a whole lot. Just trying to get a game plan going lol.

I'm guessing you don't have a built-in overflow, so you will need

    1. overflow box

    http://www.drsfostersmith.com/fish-s...3578/3579/3587

    or make your own overflow

    2. water pump rather for 10 x the water volume, so something like a 900gph pump or higher

    http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...4&pcatid=23814

    3. ball valve to control the water flow out of the water pump and water into the trickle filter

There is already an overflow in the back corner of the tank, so I do have a built in overflow...... I will have to get pics soon to show everyone what I'm working with I guess. I do have a water pump as well. I know the general idea of how they work, I just have never dealt with one personally.....

for my 300 gallon tank, I built my own trickle filters with the help of a forum member named Crispy... haven't seen him on in a while.

I'm pretty pleased with mine, although they are a bit noisy - although I don't have my stand finished, so they're not covered.

Is this what you have? http://www.amazon.com/ProClear-Aquat.../dp/B00061UXHS
