Thanks for all the information. I forgot to specify how old my tank is . Ive had it tank for Six years ( only kept rosy reds the first three) now and the mussle was my very first inhabitant. I also have very minute amounts of algae in the tank which I belive is what's keeping it alive.

I think you have room for a few more fish if the bioload from the snails isnt too big. I would recommend that you increase the number of fish of one of your existing species. This can however be hard with the pictus cat in there eating fish. You might want to consider re-homing the pictus and get more schooling fish instead.

I'd rehome the pictus, they're quite active and as yours ate some of your fish, I wouldn't be surprised if it ate some of our others.
I'd rehome the pictus, up the schools of danios, rasboras and hatchets to 6, and get a school of cories for the bottom. Pictus would need at least a 55 since they're "large" and need a school.

Do you hatchets jump out of your tank? If they do, then I'd rehome the last one.

Welcome to the AC, some great advice from William and Anders. Never tried freshwater muscles/clams, I think its neat that you had it for 6 years.
