Default Ghost Shrimp snacking on Neon?!

Got a 6 pack of Neon Tetras today for the kiddo's tank. The tank only has a few Ghost Shrimp and some snails so we wanted to step it up a notch. We let the Neon's out and one got too close to a bigger shrimp and promptly became a snack. I had to rescue it with a net. The Neon is missing a tail and the big shrimp has been moved to the large tank. Is this a normal move by the shrimp?

Can you add some pics of the shrimp? I have a feeling that these so called ghosts are actually Macrobrachium sp. whisker shrimp that have aggressive tendencies.
