Ok so my tank had a spike in nitrites yesterday(5/16-15) and I did not have time to do a WC I know I know not a good thing but today I test the water before Im going to do my WC and I have no nitrites anymore. So Im assuming the nitrates took over and ate all the nitrites it was a small spike from 0ppm to .50ppm but I have been keeping it below .25ppm to keep the fish comfortable. According to my tests my tank should be cycled!!!!

So I have a question I know you guys can answer. With my 3-5 gallon not 100% sure on the size I guessing more around 3 gallon, you think it'd be ok to add maybe 3 neon tetras I know about the inch per gallon rule but I read on here that with good filtration and the plants you could get away with one or two more fish than usual. Thanks

The "inch per gallon rule" is not a good one...after all, would you put a 10" fish in a 10 gallon tank?

Answered about the tetras in your other thread.

Goes the same for "who would keep a 5 inch fish in a 10 gallon tank"?
