Default 24hr Lighting - LED moonlight mode

Will I do harm if I run my lights 24hrs a day using the moonlight mode for 12 of those hours?

The tank in question is a heavily planted 15gallon tank - every square inch that isnt covered with wood or rock is planted - its a jungle - no co2 - low fish load.

Assuming I can keep algae under control - will there be another other adverse effects? will my plants and fish go crazy or will they adapt without any problems?

So do your fish still go to sleep in the moonlight mode or still swim around?

I actually use the moonlight mode after adding new fish. I find that they are less stressed with the moonlights vs a dark tank. They settle very quickly.

I do the same as laura. New fish moonlight. Less stress on them. Also other fish are relaxed and might not notice the new ones. Less stress for me. By being able to see the new fish I am trying to introduce.

Also we leave moonlight on when every the day lights are off. I have not seen any negative results from this.

I actually tried an experiment on the 29G, lights totally off in the dark of night...my pearl gourami went nuts, splashing the surface, and freaking out the other fish...won't do that again

I don't use the moonlight settings, Lauren made a setting that is even darker than the two different ones the Current LED offers...that's our night-night light...

This is interesting. My marineland hidden led had a moonlight mode which is all blue light. I never use it. When it's lights out, it's truly lights out. I wonder if I should try leaving the blue lights on all night.

Will do! I have my lights on a timer, and your can't control the moon lights separately, so a slight mod is in order. It's going to be my weekend project!
