    Default Parasites in the flesh

I picked up some feeder rosy minnows today and they have what appears to be little parasite cysts in their flesh. Some are darker colored, most are whitish. They went into a outdoor pond so no worries about them spreading it but I would like to treat them so they are healthy. Any idea what I might be able to use?

    Might be argulus.
When I go fishing I just throw sharp rocks in the water and wait for the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

One of the fish jumped from the pond and died so I took the opportunity to check out the spots. The parasites appear to be some kind of fluke. I can't find any info on treating them but apparently they can't complete the life cycle without a bird host so it theory I can breed parasite free babies.

    Could it be anchor worms?

No, these are under the skin deep in the flesh. These aren't my fish but this is the same thing mine have.

Since rosy minnows are sold as feeder fish, they are usually kept in horrible conditions, over crowded, with terrible water quality. I'd imagine they easily fall prey to all kinds of disease.

Given that these fish were likely raised outdoors, they likely could have been exposed to parasites that are otherwise uncommon in the aquarium hobby. I cannot identify
the exact illness, but look up glugea and henneguya for other parasites that cause subcutaneous cysts.
