I have been thinking of getting an air stone to help with oxygen levels. Has anyone has any problems with the oscar playing with/damaging the air stone? Did you bury the air stone or leave it exposed?

You'd be better off getting a circulation pump and angling it at the surface. Hydor's are pretty cheap on amazon and good. This would create more surface agitation which is what actually oxygenates the water.

A circulation pump would definitely be better for that size tank. In such a big tank, most people would put 2, 3, maybe even 4 air pumps if they were worried about oxygen levels in the water. One pump suited for a 75g would take care of it. And the big guy should leave it be. Not really something they're typically too interested in.
