    You are very welcome

Not sure where you are located, but ordering online will probably save you some $...pet stores are usually WAY overpriced on this stuff

The only thing I buy at pet stores is the actual glass tank

I'm in Canada, so I'd have to order things from Amazon.ca. I can still find each product on there but the price would be higher lol. Petsmart does seem to have some pretty pricey stuff, but they're usually pretty good with sales every now and then.

What Canadian City are you in ?

I have lived across Canada and can recommend a store or two if you would find that helpful
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    Good enough

For water conditioner, if you use buckets, you'll treat the bucket amount before adding to the tank

If you use a siphon from the sink, you treat for the WHOLE tank amount, slowly adding the conditioner into the water flow from the siphon

If you can get ahold of some medicinal syringes, they work great for dosing Prime...they're measured im ml's, which works out perfectly

Your local pharmacy may give you some for free, or you can can find them at the dollar stores for very cheap

They also work great for drawing water from your tank for testing

I just got back from Petsmart with all the items Slaphppy recommended, I'm about to start testing the water, then doing the 50% water change.

Cliff, I live in Ottawa. I bought my fish at Big Al's aquarium.

    Good deal, let us know

I found the API instructions a bit cumbersome, so I made a cheatsheet here: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...d.php?t=117796

Big Al's in Ottawa is not all that bad, I've been there a few times. Just don't trust all the advice you get there from all employees as they all seam to have varying levels of experience and knowledge.

The below link is for a on-line store in Ontario. Their prices are pretty good, but there customer service is excellent

Thanks for the link Cliff, I'll be sure to shop there sometime!

Okay, I tested some of the chemicals:
    Ammonia: ~0.25-0.50
I'm about to do a water change, I guess around 25%.
    Nitrite: 0
There's ammonia, but no nitrite? Okay.
