    There it is. I cant wait for it to grow in, though. It stood up to the water agitation at the top of the tank very well. I lost one tiny piece in the tank when I put it in.

    Looks good, I am sure with the water from the filter it will do well, and it will catch anything the filter didn't. Just don't use carbon for filter media, as it tends to pull the nutrients out of water that plants need to grow. You really only need carbon when you need to pull meds out of water after a round of treatment.

    I put it in after medicating for ich and was glad it was in there for the blue water issue, then going to take it back out Monday (1 week after stopping meds).

    Ack! now I've got the same convo in two places lol Here's my journal page. Let's continue the convo there.

    Seachem has something called Renew which works like carbon but doesn't remove the nutrients plants need like carbon does. I have been using it for years and it lasts about 2X as long. You know when to toss it because it will go from white to dark gray, just put it in a fine media bag. Its about the same size as carbon too-but without the neverending carbon dust.
