I have the toe of a stocking over the filter body, that should stop them getting sucked into the filter.

I have been eagerly waiting to see some baby shrimps for some time now without any luck. I was checking the tank today and I spotted one, about 2mm long. I thought I saw a few more too but when I got a proper look they were three tiny cherry barbs. Two are about 3mm long and one about 1.5mm long, not what I was expecting but a very pleasant surprise. The baby barbs are sticking close to each other near the bottom of the tank and the shrimp is hiding behind the plants at the back.

There are still berried shrimps in the tank so I'm expecting to see more babies at some point.
