I'm delighted to be along for this build!

Good on Lauren for 'getting bossy with the tank' -- You are guiding her along so well. In a short decade or so, she will be leaving your nest and you will be very proud to watch her fly. Let her grow her wings now. I would not be surprised if she added a fishtank into her first apartment...

Great to have you along, Rivers!...yes, I hope I do instill a love of fish for her for years to come...you know how kids outgrow things

She's already "taken over" the remote for the LED, she has a special place on her shelf for it...last night, she had the whole tank blood red "just to see", LOL....then it was dark green...bright purple

I've already bought extra batteries for the remote

Looks great, and makes me think I need to set up a new tank. What fun!

I still do the same thing once in a while, and for the same reason. :)

    Thanks Tom!

She turned 14 in June...her age is so easy to remember, she was born in 2000

Yeah, she always wanted to make my tank these crazy colors, but I told her it would stunt my fish's growth, LOL

Now, of course, I have no control over her tank....we'll see what she comes up with

    New tank!!! Yay!!!

Great dw pieces. You also had a great "harvest" for your 40B, so you and Lauren have a great eye for these things. I can't wait to see it set up.

My son was also born in 2000, but in December. I'm trying to get him hooked. He seems interested, but not quite hooked yet. Maybe that light that you have could be the cool gadget he needs to turn the corner LOL.

Oh, and I second the motion for Lauren to get her own forum account...that way we get both sides of the story! ;-)

Yes, but does she do her own water changes??!!

I particularly love that first stump with all the nooks and crannies. In fact, I want it! Some well placed moss would make that a RCS haven. Or just a great piece to attach some java fern or anubias. You've shown a lot of hard scape options there, but make sure to leave plenty of swimming room to satisfy your overstocking tendencies.

Another fun adventure for all of us. But yeah, time to bring Lauren into the fold.
