Good ten gallon heater?
0
I'm looking for a good ten gallon heater, because i started my old ten gallon tank up again with my Aqueon 30 filter and planted it with some plants. I don't know if i'll actually be putting any fish in that tank, although i'm doing the fishless cycle because of the plants i'm growing in the tank.
Is there a good heater that you could recommend for a ten gallon tank. I do like my Cobalt Neo therm heater in my 20 gallon Tall, but i don't know if i want to pay the 43 dollars for the 50 watt version for the 10 gallon tank (price includes shipping). I also don't want a heater that will putter and die on me at a moments notice.
Please advise on some suggestions. Right now my tank is holding a temperature of about 73 degrees farenheit and i have one of my Marineland double bright fixtures to supply light to the plants in the tank. Plants are water wysteria, anacaris cuttings, and some streptocoryne repens plantings from my 20 gallon tall.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure if this is available in the US but I use a Sera 50W heater in my 30 litre tank. It would also be fine for a 10G.
Pro: It's small and has thermostatic control (and it's pretty accurate).
Con: It's bright green.

I've used via aqua heaters with no issues yet (about 1 year).

I've used a Fluval M Series 50W heater in my 10G for over a year now, works flawlessly, maintains a steady 78F regardless of room temperature: http://www.amazon.com/Fluval-M-50-Wa.../dp/B0027VMPXA
I like it so much, I just ordered a new 150W of the same series for my 29G build....

Thank you all. I managed to get a National Geographic 50 watt because not only was it on sale at my local petsmart (i went there to get a moss ball for the same tank), but the four ratings i read had 3 five star and 1 four star rating. The only drawback to this heater is it is tall enough to basically be as tall as the tank itself, but right now it's holding my tank steady at 81.1 F with it physically being set at 80.
Thanks again.
