    Hi Friends,
    Does anyone recognize the red spot on my goldfish? is it an injury? or some kind of infection?

    Yikes,..it almost looks ulcerated to me. But I haven't enough experience to hazard a guess. Hope its something that can be treated successfully tho. Good luck little guy.

    If you are talking about the spot by the pectoral fin, typically a sore or lesion like that indicates some type of infection, whether bacterial or parasitic. I would probably lean more towards a bacterial infection though, since those are more common. Any idea on your water parameters?

    Whatever it is, what you can do right now is increase your water changes. This will help your fishes immune system and increase the likely hood of a fast recovery.
    Increasing your biodiversity increases your stability.
