Well, back home to find more death. Another Gourami-was a snack to some other fish, and I can only find 4 cardinals. Can't wait until the water change tomorrow. Just fed them some more medicated food. Was hoping for good news, ah well it is how it works sometimes.

There is somethong seriously scary going on this week...so sorry for the losses, Natalia

Makes you want to do this sometimes

Do you have time or energy to do the WC tonight?...I would seriously consider it, if so...if there's decay in there, ammonia levels could get ugly

A TV stand is meant to hold a TV. Like, 50 pounds or so? I've never seen a 200 lb TV. A 75 gallon tank is near 900 lbs. To save yourself a little money, you could well be costing yourself a lot.

    Welcome to my journal!

Actually a 36" tube TV (remember those?) weighed around 170-200 lbs. I lucked out because the whole base of this stand is 100% real wood, complete with a center support. We added support by framing the inside top and corners, as well as the center with additional wood. It was and still is 100% level, and there is no signs of stress to the stand. Thank you for your concern though.

Ok, well I didn't get a chance to do a water change last night, as it was just too late after running errands.

So today I did a 80% WC, getting into as much of the substrate as I could (quite a bit of mulm)and did a nice trimming of my plants. Found 2 cardinals dead among my aponogetons. Not a surprise as I knew a bunch had died. Funny thing is the fish that died were 98% all the new ones I bought (not sure how many otos I have left, see about 4 at a time). My older fish casualties were the betta, 2 honey gourami and penguin that died. Of all of them that died only the king betta and the one honey showed any signs of the infection with white cottony stuff on mouth and body. I still have the bloodfins, diamonds, one black neon, one emperor, plecos, corys, and all of my loaches pulled through (thankfully!). None of my invertebrates died either.

Hope this ends the chain of death in the tank.

I am not going to feed anyone today, and will start tomorrow without medicated food and see what happens. Everyone is so active now, especially the loaches (dojo and kuhlis).
