Default Proper Filtration for a 38G.

Lately I've been looking into adding an angelfish into my 38g tank that already has a rainbow shark, banded leporinus, and two giant danios. Right now I'm using an Aqueon QuietFlow 55/75 power filter in the tank which is designed for tanks up to 90g and it cycles through about 400g per hour. My only concern with this is that it's going to be too much power for the angelfish. Should I try a smaller filter for the angelfish or do you think it'd be alright? I upgraded the filter to the one I have currently to help ensure a healthy, clean tank.

Umm the rainbow shark will get too big for tank eventualy and it is aggresive and will nip/rip apart the angels fins, those danios will also get too big and you need more than two.

If you HOB filter has too much flow, you can always make your own flow diverter, like in the below link

    http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...=flow+diverter

This will allow you the benefits of more biological filtration that a larger filter can give you while still reducing the intensity of the flow

I too would also suggest some changes to the fish you are stocking in your tank right now
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

As for filtration, an eheim 2215.

These are nice and compatible fish if you'd have a 5ft wide tank, if not you need to downsize the fish
