You let them go at it and now you'll have puppies from 2 dogs who's histories and genetics are a mystery. What are you planning to do with them?? Sell them - the pups of a rescue and a stray? Sorry I don't mean to pee in your cornflakes....

Sorry man, I have no cornflakes to pee in. We just thought if she got preggers we would have cute pups. If people want them, we'll give them away, if not we'll keep them.
We know the past of the Pom that we adopted, An elderly lady owned her, she passed away, her kids didn't want her so they put her in a kill shelter...somewhere along the way she was traumatized..(I'm guessing from the elder lady's kids and transfer to the kill shelter)

The terrior mix is submissive but very loyal, not-aggressive and loves my daughter.. She "drags" him around and he loves to play with her.
Also having him there has brought our pomeranian more out of her shell and is being more social and playful..Win/Win

Either way, we saved 2 dogs lives, right?

I'm sure that they will be adorable. Keeping them is great - I think it would be awesome to do that one day.

Yes you did, and you will be giving the pups a chance at a happy and healthy life, too

The "pups of a rescue and a stray" can be the most loyal and loving pets one could ever hope for

    Again, kudos to you, sir

yea I think they will. Its nerve racking knowing we may be on vacation when she gives birth though..we're hoping they come before we leave..but you never know.

Agreed - no one is disputing their capacity to love and be loyal. My two are rescues and are a result of uncontrolled breeding due to owner negligence. It just seems to me that there are too many dogs that need homes as it is that we don't need to be creating more. I mean, I don't know that we should be patting anyone on the back for giving the puppies a chance at a good life when the only reason there ARE puppies is by the owners choice. We can only hope that everything goes well and that none of them have a bad life, whereas we can know for sure that none of them would have a bad life had they not existed in the first place.

Taking in the stray was awesome, no doubt. We've rescued dogs from shelters and "stolen" them from deplorable conditions, but have never taken in a stray like that. I know people who have - terrific dogs they have.

The pups were born while we were on vacation..actually while we were driving back from vacation. Our neighbors kept an eye on her progress all week. so everything worked out for the birthing.
Mom and pups are well and although she was huge for a Pom, to our surprise she only had 2 healthy (but large) "brindle" pups.
