  1. Default Niger River Update

Well been a while since last posted about my tank in progress. Not a whole lot of progress since removal of refrigeration and air pump systems, widening a doorway to accept tank and getting tank in aquarium room. In fact , shortly after doing that I had to have some abdominal surgery, from which I am recovering very but docs say can't lift more than 10 pounds for 4 more weeks. This inactivity and not being able to work on tank is maddening. Not a total waste of time though, found a formula to calculate the weight bearing capacity of floor joists. So when the wife goes to work going to crawl under house, take measurements and plug into this formula ( who comes up with these things?) Max load=FBd(d squared) divided by 9L, if any of you are as bored as I was, let me know and I will define what each letter means, that will give you weight capacity of each floor joist. So, technically, I am not lifting more than 10 pounds, right, sounds like a go to me.
If I get the values I need and think I will can start filling tank.

Thats your grandpa. Take care of him :P
wayhilc although i totally support the idea of still wanting to go on with your tank you still need rest
(kinda strange coming from a 16 year old)
When everything goes without a hitch its only then do you realize something is wrong

Sounds like we need to report you to Mrs. Wayhilc! Don't over do it just to find out if your tank can have water yet. Might end up having to pay for more medical bills and that tank sits empty for an even longer time. LOL
Increasing your biodiversity increases your stability.

You know what this tank needs? ........................ Crypts.

OK, joist measurements come out to be a weight capacity of 840.277 pounds per joist, and tank footprint will be 2 joists for capacity of 1680.554. Rough estimate of 1404 pounds for completed tank, but since it's storming v outside, and can't fill tank, will attempt to calculate actual weight minus fish and plants. I am sure there is a formula out there that also. Trip under house went well, feel fine.l
