    Default My concerns about cories.

Depends on the species. Some are more gregarious than others. I think that's the best word to describe them. I've never had any issues keeping them in community tanks... Not sure how else one would keep them....

I think they are similar to the large rainbows, in that they are curious and investigative fish. Not overbearing in any way though. Of course some species are actually aggressive, but they aren't often kept. Skunks and blue are two that come to mind that I would choose tank mates more carefully for.

Some are more into snails than others. Kuhlis couldn't care less about them. Zebras will eat all your trumpet snails, and probably every other type.

Thanks guys, my daughter has shown an interest in the past in loaches, but she loves her snails, and wishes them no harm

I think we'll stick with C. habrosus for her future 29 gallon

The botine loaches are the snail eaters. Loaches are a pretty diverse group of fish.

TBH I've never really looked into and researched them, once I read and assumed all were snail eaters

Coming back to the original topic of substrate. Have you already decided? I was going to ask if you'd considered ADA substrates. I found them to be a similar price to Eco complete by volume and have the added benefit of cycling the tank for you before stocking (ADA Amazonia releases ammonia when first soaked). I've only got experience of ADA aqua soils and capped soil. Capped soil works fine if you don't want to replant or uproot ANYTHING but is a terrible mess if you do need to pull anything up. Be aware that capping cannot really be fixed once disturbed so think carefully before going for this option.

That's a good temp for Similis, Weitzmani, Sterbai and Adolfoi. There are many others that would do well at these temps but these are some of the more attractive and hardy species.

I just about have all the substrate needed for a 125 gallon already. This substrate you are talking about seems really good, but it probably can't be done at this point.

Adolfoi and weitzmani would be extremely expensive if I wanted even just 10, especially the weitzmani. I'm pretty sure these were around $20 each, the adolfois were $9 each I think. Bronze and Sterbai are more in my range, just because I want decent sized schools. Probably 10-12 cories per school. I could possibly slowly get a school of adolfois.

If there are is any website I could order these at a better price for, I would like to see it for sure.
