    Default Plants and feeding question

This is for two separate questions. First the plants have been in here a little over a week, is it normal for them to do this:

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1408200264.985768.jpg

Also I'm going on several 3 day vacations next month. How should I feed my fish? Are those vacation feeders really a good
    Thing?

First the plant is adjustime to your tank and it might take it a while to do so. Some will melt and look better after a short while.

As for a three day vaction imo feed them for the two or three days before like twice a day. To fatten them up a little. And then let them fast for the days your gone. Then feed when you get home. Again this is my opion. And i fasted my tanks for a three day vaction with no problems.
    Fishes go "pook pook"
my spell check went on vaction.

My plants kinda wilted back a little when first added, but after about 1 week saw new growth on all them, they should be ok, I did trim back wilted or dead leaves but just my preference. Have imposed "fast" upon my fish by doing as suggested kinda heavy feed, within reason, day or two before leaving.

Plant looks OK, nothing to worry about. For three days just feed well before you leave, put the lights on a timer and make sure your filter is working. Then feed again after you return. Only reason not to do this is if you got fish in there that are very young, less than 4-6 weeks old.

Holiday feeeders tend to make a big mess of tanks.

yah, stay away from those food blocks, they aren't really very good for much. Three days without food is ok, tho I still feel bad about it so I use an automatic feeder.

I usually ask someone I trust who will still be in town the days I'm gone to feed them. I walk them through feeding the fish, and will put food amounts in containers if necessary.

What fish do you have? In my experience some species
(danios, guppies, many cichlids, etc) can be fasted for several days without any ill effect.
some others like cories and suckermouth catfish react poorly to being starved.

Put in a bit extra food the day before you leave, a few extra sinking pellets for the corys....they'll be fine for 3 days w/out eating

Plant will be fine, give it time...if any of the leaves get really bad, trim them off
