I am excited about this build and look forward to watching it progress. I will be getting a 20L sometime before Christmas and was planning on going FW with it, but I sure am tempted to try SW. Your build may just be what I need to push me that direction. So don't mess it up. lol j/k

Picked up 2 10lb bags of aragonite for $9.50 each today. I think 1 bag will be enough, that gives me roughly 3/4" sand depth.

    Total spent so far= $111.50

Congrats on the substrate. I always felt more like I was on my way to actually getting setup once the substrate had been purchased.

So after finding a larger tank by our dumpsters to house my tree frog, I now have the 29 gallon tank that the frog was in empty and available. At this point I suppose it would be easy to swap the 29 for the 20. Which tank would you use? Would two koralia 240's be enough for zoas in the 29? Would the extra 6" in height, 9 gallons, really make that much difference?

    Your thoughts? Thanks!

Yes, that almost a 30% increase. That will make a big enough difference to be worth the effort, assuming the 29 gallon tank the frog was in was designed to be a aquarium and not a terrarium.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Yes it's an aquarium. Will the 2 koralia 240"s be enough flow? I am considering adding an AC HOB filter as well...
