  1. Default 40 Breeder stocking options

    0 Not allowed!
I am looking at options to fill up my new 40 gal B with...this is a list of prospects I have come up with..please let me know your thoughts or quantities. I am running an Aqueon 30 and Fluval C4 with my set up.

I am open to other suggestions as well, I have come up with a list on aq advisor..this is just a rough list as I know it is probably over stocked but I am open for any and all advice.

    Thanks.

    Couple issues

-the bosemani get too big for the tank
-Betta and gouramis don't get along
-can't have more than 1 dwarf gourami
-I'd pick either the gbr or the flag fish, not both

I think this is what id do
    15 neon tetra
    15 harlequin
    4 gbr
    10 panda Cory
    8 hatchets

Don't trust aqadvisor 100%, should only be used as a guide

    Or you can also try
    15 white clouds/male guppys
    6-10 panda corys
    10 zebra danios
    1 honey/dwarf/sparkling gourami
    10 cardinal tetras
When everything goes without a hitch its only then do you realize something is wrong

Does this tank already have fish in it?
Increasing your biodiversity increases your stability.

You know what this tank needs? ........................ Crypts.

Agree for the most part with Triton's stock list, but
I don't think you'll be able to keep 4 unpaired rams though.
get 6 or more juveniles, let them grow up and pair up and keep
1-2 pairs depending on whether they manage to divide up the tank amongst themselves.

GBR's prefer warmer water than most other fish, Bolivian Ram's or Apisto's would be a better option there. Hatchets are difficult to keep IME, some won't eat flakes, and they're particular about water conditions as well.

    ^^^^Please click the eggs/dragons, thanks.
