    Default Shark Week

Is anyone else mildly obsessed and need to
DVR every show? Watching 'Shark of Darkness: Return of Submarine' right now and I know it's all fake but damn, NatGeo makes it sound believable.

I've been watching shark week since it started, but am so annoyed by the mockunentaries they're doing now that I've stopped watching.

Don't watch Natgeo anymore much. Not since they got gold prospecting and all sorts of shows to glorify the destruction of nature. Almost exactly like discovery channel

these days BBC has more and better animal documentaties.

But... any good.. worth watching these shark shows? Keep an eye out for them?

My favorites are usually the real documentaries about shark behavior

All my friends are obsessed with shark week. It's almost treated like some kind of celebration/holiday (without time taken off work though). I don't have TV so I've never seen it. I guess I'd understand it better if I saw it. I just don't see how they can change it up that often year after year.

Wondering if that would lead to an increase of newbies and freshwater "Sharks"

I haven't seen these shows but it sounds like it's just feeding more misinformation. Sharks have a bad enough rep as it is already with many species being persecuted to near extinction. Don't NatGeo also do some terrible trophy shark hunting tv show?
